Random (but interesting!) vintage lego pieces in the collection

<< Back to The Discovery

So finally, here are the last random pieces from the collection. And much like the minifigs and the street architecture, it has become clear we had many more items than the Town Plan set contained.

Our neighbours were lucky Lego kids indeed, not only did they receive a Town Plan Set (which we worked out to be around AU$500 in today's money) but it now appears, in addition to a generous amount of building bricks, over a period of time they also were given regular "add-on" boxes of  pieces and minifigs.

Red sloped pieces used for making angled roofs.

Curved (commonly referred to as 'macaroni') bricks.

We initially thought the curved bricks were a later vintage but eventually found evidence they were included in the original Town Plan Set.

POSTSCRIPT#1

The only piece of street architecture we could find that was not included in the collection is the street lamps that were part of the VW Auto Dealer Set #307 released in 1958.  We should probably acquire some just to make the set complete...
