A box of old Lego

We are a Lego family. We have been building and designing with Lego for two generations. Being children of the 1960s and 1970s Lego filled hours and hours of our childhood. If we drag our old Lego sets out of storage and sort through them, what will we find? What memories will they bring back and what can we show our children about our childhood Lego experience. In addition to our sets from the 1970s and 1980s that we recognised, we have a box of older Lego that is unfamiliar. It seems much older, more basic than our childhood Lego sets – join us as we uncover a hidden Lego treasure from nearly 60 years ago and piece it back together to show Lego fans of Australia.

The Discovery

Let’s dig through that box of older Lego and see what we have. So many pieces and special items we don’t recognise – as well as some old pieces that were very familiar from our childhood Lego days.

The Planning

We now know what an amazing collection we have in our possession - let’s see what we can make with. We’ll aim to recreate the original Town Plan Set, but we’re are those instructions flyers?

The Buildings

So are research is out of the way, the fun bit begins, let’s create a 1960s lego town, complete with minifigs, cars, trucks and street architecture.
